Medicare Kids Dentistry
Gentle, affordable children’s dentistry that won’t waste your time.
When your kids need the dentist, you don’t need to wait
Childhood is a wonderful time, but all the playtime, sporting activities, new food experiences and physical changes can mean lots of trips to the dentist.
We know busy parents can’t afford to spend hours sitting in waiting rooms; at The Grand Arcade Dental Surgery we have a run on time guarantee so we don’t waste yours.
What's children's dentistry?
Kids' dentistry helps protect your kids’ teeth and keeps them in great shape as they grow.
Regular check-up and cleans mean cavities get treated before they cause damage. And the dentist will back you up on how important it is to brush every day.
What’s the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
We know the cost of kids’ dental can really add up. That’s why we bulk bill families that are eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
Eligible families can receive $1,000 for children aged 2 - 17. It covers dental treatments such as check-up and cleans, x-rays, restorations and tooth removal.
We also offer a $199 Dental Savings Plan for those without Dental cover on their private health insurance.
Our team is here at any time to guide you through your treatment options.

Got Questions?
When should my child have their first dental visit?
The first dental visit should happen by your child’s first birthday or within six months of their first tooth coming in. Early dental visits help monitor oral health, teach good habits, and identify potential issues before they become problems.
Are dental X-rays safe for children?
Yes, dental X-rays are safe for children. Dentists use low-radiation digital X-rays and protective measures, such as lead aprons, to minimize exposure. X-rays are important for detecting cavities, monitoring jaw development, and checking for issues that can’t be seen during a regular exam.
Why are baby teeth important if they eventually fall out?
Baby teeth play a vital role in your child’s development. They help with chewing, speech development, and maintaining space for permanent teeth. Losing baby teeth prematurely due to decay can lead to alignment issues or crowding when adult teeth emerge.
How can I prevent cavities in my child’s teeth?
To prevent cavities: Encourage brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and flossing once daily. Limit sugary snacks and drinks. Schedule regular dental check-ups every six months. Consider fluoride treatments or dental sealants, which provide extra protection for their teeth. Teaching good oral hygiene habits early helps set the foundation for a healthy smile!
